Horseback Riding & Barn Programs

All campers enrolled in Chincapin Summer Camp have opportunities to experience our barn and horses. Riding options vary by age and interest:

Rising 1st–2nd Graders
All rising 1st–2nd grade campers participate in scheduled barn time that includes a horseback riding lesson and introductory barn exposure as part of their regular camp experience.

No Riding (Grades 3+)
Campers in grades 3 and up may choose not to participate in riding and will take part in all core Chincapin camp activities.

Riding Program (3 Days per Week | Grades 3-7)
Campers may opt into structured horseback riding lessons three days per week, focusing on riding skills, horsemanship, and confidence.

Barn Bunch (5 Days per Week | Grades 3–10)
Designed for campers with a strong passion for horses, Barn Bunch offers an immersive experience with riding and extended barn time five days per week. Campers learn advanced riding skills, horse care, and responsibility through hands-on participation.

Additional fees apply for riding programs and Barn Bunch.

Additional Options

  • Bus transportation is available for day campers from the Friendship Circle of Cleveland, located at 27900 Gates Mills Blvd., Pepper Pike.

    Cost: $80 per camper, per week


Chincapin camp for girls is where adventure and friendship happen. For girls who are passionate about horseback riding, canoeing, climbing, nature exploration, archery, sports, and more, Chincapin is the place to be.

Campers are never bored. Each day contains a variety of activities that will appeal to a wide range of interests.

Activity areas follow a progression designed to teach and solidify basic skills while continuing to offer new challenges and goals as campers return throughout the week and summer.
