Frequently Asked Questions
Many add-ons, including Before Care, After Care, Overnights, and special events, can be managed through the Additional Options form in your CampMinder account.
Camp Shirts & Gear
Each camper will receive one complimentary Red Oak Camp T-shirt.
Campers enrolled in Adventure Camp Sessions will also receive a program-specific shirt for single-week registrations.
Additional shirts, hats, and gear may be purchased during registration.
Transportation
Bus transportation is available for day campers from:
Friendship Circle of Cleveland
27900 Gates Mills Blvd., Pepper Pike
Drop-off: 8:30 a.m. (prompt departure)
Return: 4:00–4:15 p.m.
Cost: $85 per camper, per week
Transportation must be reserved in advance and is only available on a weekly basis (not daily).
Before & After Care
We offer optional extended care for families who need earlier drop-off or later pick-up.
Before Care: 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
After Care: 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Available for all programs and grade levels
During this time, campers are supervised by Red Oak staff and enjoy a more relaxed part of the day, including time in the Science Center, outdoor play, and group games.
A light snack is provided (not a full meal).
Families may also use our drop-in option (subject to availability) at a rate of $30 per use.
Before & After Care can be added through the Additional Options form in your CampMinder account.
EARLY PICK-UP
If a camper has to leave camp during the day, campers may be picked up during the set times below; we can not accommodate pick-up times outside these times. Pick-up times are 15 minutes after each period ends. This gives your camper enough time to gather belongings and head to the pickup location.
Pick-up times available:
After 1st - 10:35 A.M.
After 2nd - 11:40 A.M.
After Lunch - 12:20 A.M.
After 3rd - 1:25 P.M.
After 4th - 2:30 P.M.
After 5th - 3:35 P.M.
Use this form to submit an early pick-up.
Refund Policy
We understand that plans can change and aim to keep our process clear and consistent.
Early Registration Refunds (through March 1):
For registrations made before March 1, cancellations submitted in writing to Red Oak (dbaxter@redoakcamp.org) by March 1 will receive a refund minus:
a $25 administrative fee
any applicable credit card processing fees
Refunds Before Six Weeks:
If written notice is provided at least six weeks before the start of the registered week:
A 15% administrative fee will be applied to the tuition for the canceled week(s)
Credit card processing fees are non-refundable
Switching Weeks:
If we are able to accommodate a change:
$25 administrative fee per week changed
Within Six Weeks of Camp:
Refunds are not available within six weeks of the program start date unless due to a documented medical reason.
A letter from a licensed physician is required
Credit card processing fees still apply
Dismissals or Voluntary Withdrawals:
Refunds are not provided for campers dismissed from camp or withdrawn by a guardian for any reason, including scheduling conflicts or travel.
Overnight Experience
For an additional cost, campers can participate in our optional overnight experience.
Campers enjoy:
Campfires, s’mores, and evening activities
Age- and gender-based groupings
Sleeping in tents (moved under shelter if needed due to weather)
Schedule:
Thursday overnight → Friday pickup
Includes Thursday dinner & snack, and Friday breakfast, snack, and lunch
Campers may also choose to stay until 8:00 p.m. Thursday to participate in evening activities and then return home to sleep. (Cost remains the same.)
Overnights can be added at any time through the Tuesday of that camp week. Details such as tent groups and weekly themes are shared at the start of each week.
